Asha Israni is a character appearing in the third series of the BBC One adaptation of Ann Cleeves's Shetland. She is a Detective Sergeant based in Glasgow with the Scottish National Police.
She and Jimmy Perez have a fling throughout the third series. It culminates in her being stabbed by Leanne Randall, whom she was in charge of relocating as part of the witness protection program after Leanne's mother witnessed a violent crime.
