Detective Inspector Jimmy Perez is the main character appearing in the BBC One adaptation of Ann Cleeves's Shetland. DI Perez is the lead Inspector for the Shetland Police and works out of the Lerwick Police Station. Jimmy was born and raised on Fair Isle and recently moved to Shetland after the death of his wife. He lives on Shetland with his step daughter Cassie when she is not away at University. He shares custody of Cassie with Duncan Hunter.
