Series 3, Episode 2 is the second episode of the third series of the Scottish television crime drama Shetland. It first aired on 22 January 2016 and is based on the characters and settings as depicted in the Shetland Island series of novels by English author Ann Cleeves.
Synopsis[]
DI Perez grows convinced that Michael Maguire is implicated in the grisly death of a young man discovered in a shipping container.
Plot[]
Jimmy discovers that Robbie Morton was killed on the ferry and put into a container whilst at sea. He was also a drug dealer with retirement home employee Craig Cooper among his customers. Whilst Jimmy's superior Rhona Kelly tries to get clearance to examine the body, Maguire is given an alibi by a fellow passenger on the ferry and then, after Freya's work-shop is ransacked, Jimmy notes that Maguire and Robbie had identical tattoos before learning a vital piece of information about his chief suspect. In the meantime Leanne makes the mistake of confronting Maguire over Robbie's death after which he goes on the run.
